How we train

Training that actually holds

Good training is not about dominating a dog — it is about communication. Everything we do is reward-based and built around how your dog actually learns, so new habits hold up at home, on walks and around other dogs, long after the course ends.

All training happens at our centre in Hosur with our trainer. We do not run home visits — instead your dog learns in a calm, distraction-managed environment, and we coach you on how to keep the progress going between sessions. Short on time? Our Board & Train programme lets your dog stay with us and work with the behaviourist daily.

Keyur Parekh

International Certified Advanced K9 Behaviourist
“My job is to make it easy for them, and fun for you.”

Keyur leads every programme at Kutty Paws. An internationally certified Advanced K9 behaviourist, he works with everything from nervous rescues to boisterous puppies, using modern, reward-based methods grounded in how dogs really learn.

His approach is simple: understand why a dog is doing something before trying to change it, and teach the owner as much as the dog. That is why the results last well beyond the final session.

Why us

Why train at Kutty Paws

★★★★★
Four sessions and the pulling stopped. Most of the fixing was ours to do, and Keyur showed us exactly how.
Sowmya N., Hosur
  • A certified behaviourist, not a hobbyist

Every programme is led by Keyur Parekh, an internationally certified Advanced K9 behaviourist, using modern, science-based methods.

  • Reward-based, always

No prong collars, no shock collars, no shouting. Your dog changes because the new behaviour pays off, so it lasts.

  • We train you, too

The twenty-three hours a day you are together matter more than the one with us, so every session sends you home with clear homework.

  • Everything on one site

Leash work, distraction training around other dogs, recall on open ground and the option to board — all at our Hosur centre.

Dog Training questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you offer home training?

No. All training happens at our Hosur centre with our trainer, in a calm, distraction-managed setting. We coach you on how to continue the work at home between sessions.

Who is the trainer?

Keyur Parekh, an internationally certified Advanced K9 behaviourist, leads all training at Kutty Paws.

What is Board & Train?

Your dog stays with us and works with the trainer every day, so they come home with the foundations already in place. We then run handover sessions so you can keep it going.

What training methods do you use?

Reward-based throughout — no prong collars, no shock collars, no shouting. Behaviour changes because the dog wants to repeat it.

What age can training start?

Puppies can begin young with foundation work; obedience and one-to-one behaviour work suit adult dogs too. It is rarely too late to start.

What can training help with?

Puppy socialisation, house rules, leash walking, recall and obedience, plus pulling, jumping, barking, reactivity and resource guarding.
